While traveling from East Coast to West Coast in the U.S. and island hopping via the Caribbean are my familiar travel routes, traveling to Europe, especially for vacation is a rarity! But when I said, “Let’s,” and girlfriends responded, “Go,” I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to visit Amsterdam Netherlands. Check out some of the photos from my first European vacation and check back often for scenic updates!!
My first day in the Netherlands was about getting acquainted with Amsterdam (the capitol of Netherlands) – from the train station (Centraal Station) to the hotel we stayed at, The Swissotel, and more! My friend CiGi and I walked to our hotel from the train station after our wonderful Delta flight and then fairly quick train ride to Amsterdam Centraal Station. It was fairly easy to navigate from Point A to Point B. A tour guide who was kind enough to walk with us all the way to the hotel – helping us with our bags – once we informed him where we’d be staying. The walk was about eight minutes. I welcomed the cool breeze, people-watched and took in the sites on the lively Dam Square in City Centre! The buildings were unique and beautiful. See Below.
I slept 10 hours the first night, but I needed all the rest I could get for the second day in Holland!! CiGi and I took the train to Rotterdam, where the North Sea Jazz Festival was taking place. We had a ball! Fill you in more soon!! In the meantime, enjoy the pics!!
