Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed hosted his first UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball recently.  Mayor Reed’s co-host of the 27th Annual Mayor’s Masked Ball was UNCF’s president and CEO Dr. Michael L. Lomax.  The event benefited UNCF and its 39 member colleges and universities. UNCF’s Masked Award was presented at the event to the U.S. Ambassador to the African Union, and Retired President of the International Denominational Theological Center (ITC), Dr. Michael A. Battle, for his longstanding service to education.  The event included a special performance by Eight-Time Grammy-Nominated recording artist Fantasia. The Mayor's Masked Ball raised $1.1 Million.
