dotsRENEÉ – New Artist Gospel Spotlight

RENEÉ

The name Renee’ means REBORN. In the fulfilling of her name, Renee’ found a sustaining peace and loving Savior.

If you ask Reneé what drives her, the answer will be her inner relationship with God and her desire to please Him. When all is said and done, Renee’s heart lies with, and belongs to God. Reborn, her debut album, is a true reflection of the triumphs and trials encountered along the path Renee’s life has taken, and the unfailing love God has demonstrated through it all. The songs on her album address situations we all face, making her project one that not only Christians would appreciate, but also one that a wider audience could embrace.

“Singing for God and his people, is what I am most comfortable doing. It’s something I love and I’ve been doing for a long time,” Renee’ explains. For Renee’, singing is all about His will. “Life has taught me so much about who God is. I have had trials that caused me to lie before God many days and nights. It was during these times God inspired me to write these songs.” She strongly believes that all she has been through was to prepare her for this divinely appointed time. I pray this project reaches into the soul of the listener and deposits the anointing and peace of God that was present during the creation of each song.

As a songwriter, and co-founder of Take Note Entertainment, Renee’ and producer Wirlie Morris successfully built a catalog of hit songs of various genres in the U.S. Europe and Japan. God blessed Renee’ to contribute to projects of major artist. Her writing ability also extended to movies and plays. “Step Aside” a song co written by Renee’ for Tyler Perry’s “Daddy’s Little Girls” and the stage play “What’s Done in the Dark”, was sang by both Tamela Mann and Yolanda Adams. Although she’d been writing gospel for years, the film and stage play gave Renee national exposure as a writer in the gospel arena.

Finding success in the music industry, Renee’ still felt as though she had not fulfilled the calling placed on her life at the age of 17 to become a gospel recording artist. Throughout her life she has remained committed to singing, winning souls for Christ and working with youth. Reborn is Renee’ continuing in the call of God to actively minister through music but now she has a wonderful testimony along with the Word of God. It is truly her time and her turn.

Reborn is produced by the Grammy nominated, and truly gifted, Wirlie Morris. This project transcends styles and is a striking collection of biblical principles applied to skillfully created tracks that set the atmosphere for the listener to be transformed and God to be glorified. The lyrics of the songs are sincere and convey essential messages in memorable melodies. This breakthrough album incorporates Gospel, Praise & Worship, and R&B styles. “After the Rain” is a funky upbeat song that is a testimony that things do get better. The song “Cherish” is smooth R&B, that speaks of an intimacy with God that only happens when you are alone in His presence. Influenced by Renee’s time locked away with God, “Cherish” is exactly how she feels about her special time set aside with her heavenly Father. “Thankful” is a song of praise to God in reflection and appreciation for life, causing the listener to reflect and see His goodness. “Fall on Me” is a wonderfully anointed Praise and Worship song, and “Hold On ” encourages the listener, as God speaking, to trust Him. In Renee’s words, “Every song on Reborn has a purpose and commission to reach, teach, encourage, and point the listener to our loving God.”
