SELMA celebrated its New York Premiere December 14, presented by Paramount Pictures, Delta Air Lines, Tina Brown Live Media, and Credit Suisse, at the Ziegfeld Theater, where stars David Oyelowo, Oprah Winfrey (also a Producer on the film), Carmen Ejogo, Tom Wilkinson, Tim Roth, Common, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Andre Holland, Lorraine Toussaint, Niecy Nash, Stephen Root, Colman Domingo, Lakeith Lee Stanfield, Dylan Baker, Omar Dorsey, Stephan James, Wendell Pierce, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Trai Byers, Henry G. Sanders, Jeremy Strong, Kent Falcon, and John Lavelle walked the red carpet alongside Director/Executive Producer Ava Duvernay, Producers Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, and Executive Producer Paul Garnes. SELMA, from Paramount Pictures, Pathé, and Harpo Films, is in selected theaters on December 25th, 2014, and nationwide on January 9th, 2015. tumultuous three-month period in 1965, when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led a dangerous campaign to secure equal voting rights in the face of violent opposition. The epic march from Selma to Montgomery culminated in President Johnson (Tom Wilkinson) signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, one of the most significant victories for the civil rights movement. Director Ava DuVernay’s SELMA tells the real story of how the revered leader and visionary Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (David Oyelowo) and his brothers and sisters in the movement prompted change that forever altered history.

October 29, 2014Beyond the Lights is the story of Noni, the music world’s latest superstar. But not all is what it seems, and the pressures of fame have Noni on the edge – until she meets Kaz Nicol, a young cop and aspiring politician who’s been assigned to her detail. Drawn to each other, Noni and Kaz fall fast and hard, despite the protests of those around them who urge them to put their career ambitions ahead of their romance. But it is ultimately Kaz’s love that gives Noni the courage to find her own voice and break free to become the artist she was meant to be. BEYOND THE LIGHTS is directed by Gina Prince Bythewood, who also directed Love & Basketball, and stars Nate Parker (The Secret Life of Bees), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Belle), Danny Glover and Minnie Driver.

October 29, 2014The 5th Annual BronzeLens Film Festival in Atlanta proved to be one the most comprehensive film festivals in the nation. Attendees were empowered, entertained and educated. HIGHLIGHTS October 22, 2014 – 5th Annual BronzeLens Film Festival kick off screening of Through a Lens Darkly: An Emergence of a People, a film by Thomas Allen Harris inspired by Deborah Willis’s book Reflections in Black. The event took place at the super plush SCAD show theater. Thomas Allen Harris participated in a stimulating talk back with celebrated photographer Sheila Pree Bright that was moderated by Dr. Pellom McDaniels, Jr., Curator of African American Collections and Assistant Professor of African American Studies at Emory University.The highly anticipated Moguldom Studios Bleaching Black Culture which examines the impact African Americans have on art, culture and technology was the second screening of the evening. Each thought provoking film was best in class. October 23, 2014 – BET Networks sponsored All Shorts | All Day at the Georgia Pacific Auditorium. Guests were wowed by the 15 official 2014 BronzeLens short films selections screenings.
